Owen and Nick van Machinefabriek Boessenkool introduce themselves
In our ‘Employee Featured’ section, we interview various employees who work at one of our 12 high-tech companies. What exactly do they do and what is so great about working in technology? This week, Owen and Nick would like to introduce themselves. They are both completely at home at Machinefabriek Boessenkool! Curious about what they do? Read on quick!
Owen Rutering
“I am a construction worker apprentice at Machinefabriek Boessenkool in the construction department and I am following the Level 2 construction worker training at the SMEOT in Hengelo. Every day I do a lot of chores at work and in my spare time I do a lot of sports”. One of Owen’s odd jobs is a wine rack that he makes for his aunt. Real craftsmanship! This way he can practice nicely and in the meantime he learns the trade. He has already made a beautiful fire pit. And say yourself: isn’t this real craftsmanship?!
What do you love about your job?
“I really enjoy this job because I like to do rough work and the company and the colleagues help you if you can’t figure something out. I really enjoy doing it myself and would like to say to other young people: “it is a beautiful profession and you also get a lot of time to practice”.
Nick Stinissen
Further down the factory, his classmate and colleague Nick is also busy at work. Nick also enjoys working at Boessenkool and, like Owen, follows the ‘Construction worker’ training at the SMEOT in Hengelo. “I am still a student, but I work in the construction department”. Nick is busy with all kinds of different tasks. “I do various things such as sawing, welding, assembling, grinding, powder coating and drilling”.
Well, that’s very varied! What do you love about your job and the company?
“I like the job because I like the practice. I am busy all day with different things and the company is nice because I have good colleagues and there are fun activities. I would like to say to young people: if you like technology, I would definitely choose it. There is always work involved! In addition, you are working on real craftsmanship and at Boessenkool you get a lot of freedom to practice”.
Machinefabriek Boessenkool is a machine factory in the broadest sense of the word. They develop, design and produce parts, systems and complete machines. Craftsmanship, simply providing good solutions and the collaborative mentality of the pure co-maker. Those are the three basic principles that Machinefabriek Boessenkool stands for and goes for. In addition, Boessenkool also makes megadrones and Aerosol recycling machines. Knowing more? There are two blogs online about these two products. You can read them here (drone) and here (DeSpray)! A real high-tech company!
