On Thursday evening July 2, the Boessenkoolprijs was awarded for the 51st time at the PIUS X College in Almelo. This prize is an annual tradition with which Machinefabriek Boessenkool wishes to emphasise that it is closely involved in technical training and future technical talent in the region.
Price for all participants
Normally the Boessenkoolprijs goes to one student or a team of a few students of the PIUS X College. Due to the corona crisis, the preparations did not go as usual and therefore the award ceremony took a special turn. To everyone’s surprise, all 13 participants were called forward: Quinten Diepeveen, Bart Bekhuis, Andy Boertien, Niels Kulpe, Naomi Odink, Bilal Chaouki, Owen Rutering, Samir Hashemi, Doruk Akin, Ynze Exel, Joeri Fokke, Turgay Kuyumcu and Nick Geitenbeek. Eelco Osse presented everyone with the prize certificate and a goodie bag with nice items.
Machinefabriek Boessenkool hands out the Boessenkool every year to create a connection, says Eelco Osse. “The award is intended as an incentive for technical students to choose challenging, innovative functions in technology. This is important for those students themselves, but certainly also for all companies in the metal & electrical industry who are constantly looking for talented employees. This also applies to Boessenkool, because without well-trained staff, we have no right to exist.”
