Nomination OOM Award 2024 for Machinefabriek Boessenkool

Company from Almelo in the running for the award of most active training company

Machinefabriek Boessenkool from Almelo has been nominated this week for the OOM Award Overijssel/Achterhoek 2024. The OOM Award is the award for the most active (metal) learning company in the region. In addition to Machinefabriek Boessenkool, Drabo from Hardenberg and Wopa from Harreveld have also been nominated. The winner will be announced during the New Year’s meeting of Metaalunie district East in January 2025.

Training is vital for technical companies, says director Eelco Osse. “We try to encourage everyone here to develop themselves further. Without well-trained employees, the company is worthless. By continuing to train, employees are more motivated, they have new challenges and they enjoy their work even more. And that is good for everyone: the employee, but certainly also for the company.”

Professional jury
The nominations for the OOM Award are determined based on the number of training activities by the employees of the company, the number of bbl students that are supervised and the number of internships that are offered. After the nomination, a professional jury visits all nominated companies. This jury then comes to a final verdict. The winner is announced during the annual meeting of the Koninklijke Metaalunie in the relevant district.
