On Tuesday evening, July 16, the Boessenkool Prize was awarded for the 55th time at the Alma College in Almelo. It has been an annual tradition since 1969 to award the prize to young technical talent in the region. The award emphasizes Machinefabriek Boessenkool’s involvement in technical training and also as an incentive for future technical talent in the region.
Almost cum laude
Cas passed his Production, Installation and Energy (PIE) level 4 course this year. With just a few tenths of a degree, he almost obtained his cum laude diploma. During his training, he always showed enormous commitment and involvement in and around the workshop at Alma College. Cas has an infectious, positive attitude and is always willing to go the extra mile and help others with their projects.
Whenever a new assignment was given, especially electrically related, Cas was immediately at the front with great curiosity to see exactly what it was and whether he could learn something new. It is therefore very logical that Cas has decided to continue studying with the theoretical Electrical Engineering level 4 course.
Always ‘on’, even during internships
Not only at school, but also during internships at companies, we as a school always received positive feedback from his internship supervisor. For example, Cas started working on energy savings at the FIX Brigade in Almelo. He, together with three students from the Zone College, also learned a lot from his supervisor and the Loohuis company in Vroomshoop for six weeks.
Commitment and ambition
The Boessenkool Prize that Cas won is the reward for his tireless efforts and dedication to everything that came his way during his training and to all the people he came into contact with. These qualities have ensured that Cas was a welcome person everywhere and always, reliable, honest and ambitious.
Promising technical talent from the region
Machinefabriek Boessenkool is always very interested in young talent. We have had the honor of awarding the Boessenkool Prize for more than 50 years. This annual tradition serves as a powerful statement of our commitment to technical education in the region and the importance of future metal engineering talent. The prize acts as an incentive for technical students to choose challenging and innovative positions in technology.
Attracting talented young people is crucial. Not only for themselves, but also for the flourishing of companies in the metal and electrical industries. The Boessenkool Prize is a means by which we want to stimulate this enthusiasm and inspire the young generation to strive for a promising career in technology.
