At Machinefabriek Boessenkool you have come to the right place for various machining activities. Thanks to our extensive machine park, we can handle orders of different sizes and sizes. In addition to CNC turning, drilling, boring and grinding, you can also contact us for CNC milling. Our professionals have the knowledge to optimally process your workpiece with the right machines and an experienced CNC miller will be happy to work for you.
Milling or CNC milling is a machining operation. This uses a rotating tool, the cutter, to remove material. Major milling is carried out on a milling machine. The workpiece to be machined is clamped on the milling machine and the milling cutter moves in different directions and positions to give the desired shape to the project. Milling is mainly used in the metal, wood and plastic processing industries. For example, we perform CNC milling operations on aluminum and metal.
At Machinefabriek Boessenkool we mill CNC controlled (with a computer) and with a 5-axis milling machine. In view of the increasingly strict requirements imposed on milling work, we at Machinefabriek Boessenkool are at the forefront and can meet the highest expectations.
Certificates and inspections always guarantee the best quality of every operation by Machinefabriek Boessenkool. Machinefabriek Boessenkool is authorized for overstamping / stamping for various inspection bodies, including RINA, Lloyds, ABS, DNV, and others.
The milling is carried out by Machinefabriek Boessenkool in an air-conditioned production hall. High-quality milling is carried out on, for example, large parts of equipment for oil and gas extraction. The required accuracies and expansion accommodation for these types of workpieces are spectacular. It is therefore not without reason that we only work with expert welders and the very best machines. Our employees are skilled in various forms of milling, end milling and keyway milling to roughing milling.
There are different forms of CNC milling for the correct machining of your workpiece. Which cutter is used depends on several factors. It is important to know what material it is and how the finish should be. The milling process involves precision and expertise and craftsmanship are therefore desirable. We can certainly guarantee this at Machinefabriek Boessenkool with our good CNC millers in-house. We are also specialized in machining.
A milling cutter is a tool that is placed on a milling machine. This can be on a CNC mill, but also on a router that is manually controlled. There are countless different milling options that can be used, as there is a suitable milling cutter for almost every operation. We mention a few cutters below.
Universal cutters are also called end mills. These cutters are not always center cutting, which means they cannot be used for drilling. These are used to make machining in a horizontal direction, where the center of the cutter is lower than the cutting teeth.
Roughing mills are divided into rough milling cutters and fine rough milling cutters. These cutters are equipped with teeth. The wide chip is divided into smaller chips. These teeth make these roughing cutters very suitable for heavier milling work. The cutting capacity with teeth is greater than milling without teeth. However, a less smooth surface is achieved.
Keyway cutters are used to create keyways in a shaft. The keyway cutter can mill and drill and is center cutting, because the top of the cutter is higher than the rest of the cutting surface of the cutter. If a keyway is also fitted in the second axle or a hub, a key can be inserted in between.
A cutter removes rotating material from wood, metal or plastic. This cutting is mainly done horizontally through the material, so that different shapes and profiles are possible. There are different milling methods. Below we further explain up-milling and up-milling.
In climb milling, the cutter turns in the same direction as the workpiece moves. The feed is equal to the direction of rotation of the cutter. Climb milling is often used in hard plastics.
Advantages of climb milling:
With up-milling, the drive shaft of the cutter turns in the opposite direction as the cutter itself. Because the workpiece rotates in the direction of the drive shaft, the workpiece then moves against the direction of rotation of the cutter. Counter milling is often used in wood and soft plastics.
Advantages of up-milling:
Today, increasingly higher demands are placed on CNC milling. At Machinefabriek Boessenkool we are at the forefront of meeting the increasingly strict requirements for milling work, but also to continue to meet the wishes of our customers. Major milling is done in our factory on a 5-axis and CNC-controlled milling machine. During the machining process, nothing is left to chance and our professional CNC millers work for you to achieve the best results. Whether it concerns CNC milling of ferrous or non-ferrous materials, you can contact us for CNC milling! At Boessenkool we are also specialized in large boring, large milling, large welding and large machining.
