At Machinefabriek Boessenkool you can go for various machining activities. In our large production halls we have an extensive machine park at our disposal and we work with the best machines for optimal results. Together with our professionals, we can do various machining operations for you, from smaller to larger workpieces and projects. We can also MAG weld for you. With this welding technique you are assured of the best connection for your product.
In MAG welding, just like in MIG welding, a constant voltage is used and a wire is continuously fed through the welding gun. The arc is formed between this wire and the product. The wire is the electrode on the one hand and the wire melts on the other hand and is thus the filler material. During MAG welding, the weld pool is protected by a shielding gas. Did you know that in addition to MAG welding, we can also do orbital welding, spot welding, BMBE welding and robot welding.
MIG/MAG welding is a specific welding technique. The difference between MAG and MIG welding is in the shielding gas used during the welding process. The abbreviation MAG stands for ‘Metal Active Gas’ and the abbreviation MIG stands for ‘Metal Inert Gas’. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is often used as the active gas. That is why MAG welding is often also called CO2 welding. MIG welding often uses argon or a mixture of argon with helium or hydrogen gas as the inert gas.
The method for both MAG and MIG welding is the same, regardless of the gas used during the welding process. That is why MIG/MAG welding is often considered as one welding technique.
Of all welding techniques, MIG/MAG welding is the fastest and most automated way to weld. And the only difference between MIG and MAG welding is therefore only the shielding gas. With MIG/MAG welding, a constant voltage is present, which creates an electric plasma arc between the workpiece and the welding wire. This is in contrast to, for example, TIG welding where a constant current is used. With MAG welding, and also MIG welding, the workpiece is heated and the materials that need to be welded melt together. In this, the melting welding wire is both electrode and filler material. This allows work to be done much faster than with other welding techniques.
Certificates and inspections always guarantee the best quality of every operation by Machinefabriek Boessenkool. Machinefabriek Boessenkool is authorized for overstamping / stamping for various inspection bodies, including RINA, Lloyds, ABS, DNV, and others.
MIG/MAG welding is a versatile welding technique and is therefore widely used, because it can be applied to various areas and materials. In addition, the MIG/MAG welding technique is a fast way of large welding work and can be done at very high speed. MIG/MAG welding is suitable if high productivity is required. It is also possible to MIG/MAG weld with a robot. In this way, the welding process is mechanized and high-quality continuity in quality can be guaranteed.
The biggest advantage of MIG/MAG welding is that it is a relatively simple welding technique that can be performed quickly. This allows larger volumes to be welded in a relatively short time, with optimal results. Another big advantage of MAG welding is that the costs for CO2 are relatively low compared to the gases used in MIG welding, for example.
At Machinefabriek Boessenkool we can MAG weld with both manual and welding robots, but a combination of both is also possible. Our welding experts look at this per workpiece and work as efficiently as possible. By using automation, we limit the chance of errors to a minimum and at Machinefabriek Boessenkool we can also weld complex workpieces accurately. Machinefabriek Boessenkool is EN 1090 and ISO certified, so that we meet the quality standards.
In addition to MIG/MAG welding, including stainless steel welding MIG/MAG, MIG welding steel and MIG welding aluminum, you can also contact us for TIG welding or other machining work. We are ready to advise you and to perform customized processes for you and with the best results.
