At Machinefabriek Boessenkool you can go for many different machining activities. From small to large workpieces and projects. At Machinefabriek Boessenkool in Almelo we have an extensive machine park. Our machines are of the best quality, so that our professionals can get to work for you without any problems. For example, we can drill, boring, CNC turn, large machining or large milling. We are also at home in various welding processes, such as MIG welding , TIG welding, orbital welding, but also BMBE welding and large welding work. With BMBE welding you choose a versatile and frequently used method of welding.
BMBE stands for ‘arc welding with coated electrode’. BMBE welding is also often called ‘electric welding’, but that is not entirely correct, because there are many other electric welding processes. Arc welding with coated electrode or welding BMBE is a welding process that belongs to electric arc welding in which a consumable electrode is used. No shielding gas is added with BMBE welding, because that is formed from the coating of the electrode.
With BMBE welding, a constant current is used, a so-called falling or vertical current source characteristic. This is in contrast to, for example, MIG/MAG welding where a constant voltage is used, a so-called flat or horizontal current source characteristic.
In coated arc welding, an electric arc is created between the workpiece and the electrode. This arc provides the heat needed to melt the workpiece and the electrode. The electrode consists of a metal core wire and a coating. The core wire conducts the current and is also the filler material. As soon as the arc is ignited, the core wire and the coating melt. The substances added to the coating release gases that help maintain the arc and protect the liquid material from external influences. The coating of the electrode therefore provides protection during and after welding.
Arc welding with coated electrode is a widely used welding process that is also very versatile due to the many types of available electrodes. However, BMBE welding is often performed manually. This is because electrodes often need to be replaced and the distance between the workpiece and the melting electrode must be kept the same. However, it is possible to automate BMBE welding. In this case, longer electrodes are used and the welding tongs with the clamped electrode are mechanically moved along a guide. This welding process is also called gravity welding, but is rarely used.
Certificates and inspections always guarantee the best quality of every operation by Machinefabriek Boessenkool. Machinefabriek Boessenkool is authorized for overstamping / stamping for various inspection bodies, including RINA, Lloyds, ABS, DNV, and others.
The process of BMBE welding has both advantages and disadvantages compared to other welding processes
At Machinefabriek Boessenkool in Almelo we can also weld your workpieces BMBE or spot weld. Welding is a good way to connect materials by means of pressure and/or heat. In this process, the material is brought into a liquid or soft state at the point of connection, while material with approximately the same composition is added. At Machinefabriek Boessenkool we can perform various welding techniques for you. In addition, our professional welders have a lot of experience and knowledge and are happy to get started for you with arc welding with coated electrode.
